OUR HISTORY

Having fallen in love with the sleepy, sun-drenched properties scattered across the picturesque local landscapes of plane trees, wheat fields and olive groves, it was in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence that Emile Garcin first founded the luxury real estate group EMILE GARCIN in 1963. This sincere and profound passion for beautiful property was soon to be bequeathed to his three children – Emmanuel, Nathalie and Antoine – who have since played their own part in ensuring that the company retains it independent, family spirit.

In 1986, Emmanuel Garcin opened an agency in Ménerbes, in the area of Lubéron. Four years later, Nathalie Garcin created their first agency in Paris, on Rue de l’Université, serving the capital’s Left Bank. This was followed by the Right Bank agency, on Rue du Boccador. Meanwhile, younger brother Antoine Garcin settled down in the hills surrounding the village of Mougins, so beloved of Picasso, where he opened his own branch in 2004.
In a little over fifty years of activity, the company has grown considerably. It now comprises 27 non-franchised agencies covering Provence, the Rhône valley, the Basque coast, Deauville, Périgord and the Alps, in addition to Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and their surrounding regions. Further afield, EMILE GARCIN enjoys a presence in Morocco, Geneva and Brussels, with representatives based in London and Los Angeles, and partners in Portugal, Brazil, South Carolina and Miami.
Around one hundred members of staff are now employed under the joint management of founder Emile Garcin, President Nathalie Garcin and Chief Executive Emmanuel Garcin. After all these years, the group is still pursuing its mission with undiminished passion: to offer, for sale or to rent on a seasonal basis, exceptional properties that are faithful to the history and identity of their locations, and whose presence serves to augment the charm and character of some of the most beautiful countryside in France and beyond.
As a sponsor, Emile Garcin created the PRIX EMILE GARCIN in partnership with the Vieilles Maisons Françaises association. This prize encapsulates his desire to share the passion to which he has dedicated his life.
